Prosthetic Dental Treatment

It is a treatment that replaces missing portions of teeth, one or more missing teeth, and the associated tissues with appropriate materials to restore function, aesthetics, comfort, and health. Removable dentures, complete dentures, fixed dentures, bridges, crowns, inlays, and implant-supported dentures are among the primary prosthetic dental treatment methods.

What is an implant-supported denture?

Implant-supported dentures restore the function, aesthetics, and phonetics of lost teeth. Dental implants are screw-shaped, tissue-friendly, titanium roots placed in the jawbone to restore the function and aesthetics of missing teeth.

What are inlays and onlays?

In cases of excessive tooth material loss, large fillings are prepared in the laboratory to replace the material loss. These are called onlays and inlay fillings.

If the material loss is minimal and the cusps are intact, an inlay is performed. If the material loss is extensive and the cusps are present, an onlay is performed. A few days after an impression is taken, it is bonded to the tooth with special adhesives.

What is a fixed denture (crown)?

These are types of dentures created by shaping the teeth and bonding them to models prepared from the impressions, which are then adapted to the mouth and remain permanently on the tooth.

The ceramic substructures of dentures generally include metal alloys, all-ceramic materials, and zirconium.

What is a removable denture?

These are appliances used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are easily removable and can be removed at any time.

If a porcelain veneer is not required, the procedure typically takes 5-6 sessions, but the dentist may increase the number of sessions if necessary. Once the denture is fitted, it adapts to the mouth over several sessions.

The patient's adaptation period to the denture is approximately one month.
